Will I need an interview?

For certain subjects, or in cases where an applicant has non-traditional academic qualifications, or where we are required by law or by a professional body, we may invite you for an interview. We may also use additional or alternative assessment methods including:

  • Telephone or face-to-face interview (these may be carried out one-to-one or in a group situation)
  • Portfolio of work
  • Admissions/diagnostic tests (including numeracy and/or literacy tests)
  • Academic scrutiny of research proposals (for postgraduate research applications).

Interviewing courses are generally those in Nursing, Health, Art & Design, and Teacher Training disciplines.

Once you have applied, our Admissions Team will email you with a link to select your interview date. If you are unable to select a date or if you wish to enquire about an alternative date, please contact the team directly at or call 01204 903 394.

Please find more information on our admissions page and for international interviews please contact or visit our international student information page.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.
