Would I need to buy any specific kit or materials for my Electrical and Electronic Engineering course?

We have a policy here at Bolton called no strings attached. Here, we provide everything you need to achieve your degree. We also want our students to use and enjoy our facilities for their own projects and will provide additional materials and support to help you learn on your own projects wherever we can! We always try our best to make everything as accessible as possible so you can focus on learning!

If you wish to buy stationery, laptops, for example, we also run the great #UniAsItShouldBe scheme where your learning rewards you with money to buy equipment. Of course, you should require stationary for note-taking, and one recommendation would be to purchase a scientific calculator such as a Casio FX991-EX to help you with the mathematical elements of Electrical and Electronic Engineering on your course.

If you have any other enquiries relating to this you can contact the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Team to discuss, their contact details can be found at the bottom of the specific course page by searching the Electrical and Electronic Engineering subject area.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.

At the University of Bolton, we understand our students have different requirements and we pride ourselves on the positive and supportive learning environment we provide. Being voted No. 1 for Student Satisfaction for the past three years (Complete University Guide, North West) is a testament to our approach.

We are proud of our work on-campus to ensure our students can enjoy #UniAsItShouldBe, COVID-secure.
