Students

What is University?

A big question for many students in years 8-11 is 'What is University?' and "Why go to University?"

University is further education for students 18+ where they can continue to study after they complete their sixth form or college studies. Most students will start University aged 18 or above. There are lots of different Universities throughout the UK and globally so making sure you choose a supportive University is pivotal.

University it is different to school as you only study one or two subjects. This allows you to become a specialist in your subject and be better prepared for a job in your subject in the future.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.

What is #UniAsItShouldBe? A University that puts its students and their needs first through a supportive learning environment. Welcome to the University of Bolton.
