Helping your students make informed subject choices

UCAS has created a range of teacher resources for helping to guide students with this decision, and to provide your students the tools they need to make informed decisions about which subjects to study at A Level or equivalent – with one eye on their future plans.
This activity is designed to give students some pointers about choosing what subjects to study – A levels, International Baccalaureate (IB), Highers, Welsh Baccalaureate, BTECs, or another course altogether.
You can find the UCAS subject worksheet and teacher notes and advice on how to discuss subject choices with students and activities to help them. It is also a great idea to explore course pages to see entry requirements and make notes of what subjects or specific requirements would be needed to pursue that career path.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.

You can find out more about our application and admissions processes on our application and admissions page.

At the University of Bolton, we are proud that for the past five years we have been voted No.1 (Complete University Guide 2021, North West) by or students for Student Satisfaction.
