Games

Would I need to buy any specific kit for my Games course?

Our creative courses such as Games Art and Games Design provide all the basic tools you need whilst on-campus in our dedicated games labs, we highly recommend investing in a high-end PC or gaming laptop for home so that you can work on your assignments efficiently outside of University. For Games Art students, we would also recommend purchasing a graphics drawing tablet such as those by Wacom or Huion as you may wish to replicate the techniques used in class, at home, or other facilities that will require you to purchase them, or if you want to experiment with media/software not covered within classes. There are plenty of resources and software to expand your learning, but please feel free to contact a Programme Leader or your personal tutor about anything additional you are interested in.

If you have any other enquiries relating to this you can contact the Games Team to discuss, their contact details can be found at the bottom of the specific course page by searching the Games subject area.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.
