Health and Social Care

What skills will I learn on a Health and Social Care course?

Health and Social Care courses teach a broad range of critical skills that can be utilised across the Health and Social Care sectors. There are core skills that depend on which Health and Social Care route you choose, and there are additional soft skills that you will develop as a health practitioner and carer working with patients, observing other practice, your fieldwork, and attending professional development activities to enhance your abilities following the completion of your degree.

We also teach aspects of professional practice including how to prepare a portfolio of your development, as well as communication skills, teamwork, presentation skills, independent working, writing and oral communication, time management, adaptability, confidence, resilience, interview skills, and many more.

For all the details on the specific Health and Social Care courses or if you have any other enquiries relating to this please visit the Health and Social Care subject area, you will also find contact details of the Health and Social Care Team if would like to speak to them directly.
