Medical Biology

What is the teaching and assessment structure for Medical Biology?

Medical Biology courses are a mixture of theory and practical development. We are very keen on interactive learning where theory is brought to life by practical experience. Built into the schedule for each module are seminar sessions supporting your assessment development. The majority of our modules consist of classroom-based activities alongside relevant practical sessions. Typically we would start with a classroom session before heading to the laboratories to develop our understanding of the topic in question via a practical activity. The overall assessments may very, to write essays, reports, deliver presentations, virtual learning activities, criminal discussions, summarise key topics in poster presentations, and demonstrate in practical examinations.

All elements of the course will include independent learning and taught elements, so there will be a combination of lectures, workshops, and tutorials to review your work and how you are implementing your theoretical knowledge into practice.

If you have any other enquiries relating to this you can contact the Medical Biology Team to discuss, their contact details can be found at the bottom of the specific course page by searching the Medical Biology subject area.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.
