Special Effects and Make-Up

What is a Special Effects and Make-up foundation course for and what should I expect?

Special Effects and Make-up foundation programmes are essentially an Art and Design foundation. You will learn life-drawing, sculpting, colouration, anatomy, working with different mediums for the creation of physical assets. These are some of the core skillsets we require you to have before you enter the first year of the 3 year SMUFX Undergraduate degree. You will learn academic skills for study, as well as creative skills which will be core in the transition to your chosen degree.

If you have any other enquiries relating to this you can contact the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Team to discuss, their contact details can be found at the bottom of the specific course page by searching the Special Effects and Make-Up subject area.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.
