What career paths are available after studying a Community Development and Youth Work course?

Community Development and Youth Work is integral to the equality and development of society. The career paths are varied due to the extensive knowledge and experience you gain on the programme. The skills you develop are extremely transferable to many different sectors and organisations working with people, such as public, private, and voluntary sector organisations, housing associations and homelessness organisations, charities – e.g. domestic violence, refugee and asylum seeker groups, food banks, street outreach, also hospitals, mental health organisations, and emergency services, environmental groups, LGBTQ+ organisations, open access youth clubs, community hubs and faith groups, international and sustainable development projects, local authorities e.g. community development officers, council community teams, youth provision teams, adult and young persons formal and informal education, health and wellbeing organisations, alcohol and substance misuse support, or more!

If you have any other enquiries relating to this you can contact the Community Development and Youth Work Team to discuss, their contact details can be found at the bottom of the specific course page by searching the Community Development and Youth Work subject area.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.
