Nursing and Midwifery

I would like to know more about Nursing and Midwifery courses.

Thank you for enquiring about the School of Nursing and Midwifery. At the University of Bolton, we pride ourselves on our student-focused approach to learning, supporting your career ambitions, and preparing you for graduate employment. Quite simply, we ensure that you enjoy your time at University; through quality teaching, passionate lecturers, supportive environments, and great facilities.

Our Nursing and Midwifery courses work in partnership with several NHS Trusts that allow you to gain your professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and gain valuable theoretical and practical skills on-site, to prepare for your career.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.

For undergraduate programmes you'll usually spend a 50/50 split of your time-on-site or at the University so that you have the opportunity to implement your theoretical knowledge into practice and gain experience with leading healthcare professionals. Please take note of the entry requirements and that you have prepared your Level 2 English and Maths qualifications in advance.

For Foundation programmes you'll bridge the gap to Undergraduate study by preparing with essential academic, critical thinking and course-based skills that lead to your undergraduate study and a career in Nursing and Midwifery.

For entry requirements, course leader contact details, and instructions on how to apply please visit here.

For those with experience in Health and Social Care, or a related field, you may be eligible for a fast track route. Fast track to Nursing and Midwifery is a 9-week course that brings you up to speed with the latest guidance, policy, and theoretical knowledge you will need for your Undergraduate study and placement, you can find more details here.
