Visual FX

How many UCAS points are required for Visual FX courses?

There are a range of undergraduate Visual FX courses with film, TV, or make-up specialisms. Each require 104 UCAS points for the 3 year degree programme. If you study a foundation year beforehand you will require 48 UCAS points (or equivalent)

If you are considering studying a Visual FX course then you should have a keen interest in film, visual FX design or development, model-making, make-up artistry, design, the creative industries, or experience in this field which you are able to demonstrate through a portfolio. There is no specific format to a portfolio, however, you could see our other FAQ resources for guidance, or contact a Programme Leader for further information.

Depending on your experience we may consider your application without the above qualifications or UCAS tariff points.

If you have any other enquiries relating to this you can contact the Visual FX Team to discuss, their contact details can be found at the bottom of the specific course page by searching the Visual FX subject area.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.
