Media and Photography courses require a portfolio of creative work for review and then an offer can be made, or an interview will be scheduled. If you do require an interview then it will be conducted online via Zoom during the COVID-19 measures, and detailed information about how to join will be emailed to you before your interview date.

Media and Photography courses do not typically require an interview, however, you may need to provide a portfolio of creative work for review so that we can understand your skills, interests, and abilities.
For Media and Photography we typically expect to see a portfolio that demonstrates:
- Creativity and a good artistic eye with regards to recent photographs and/or similar evidence such as creative works (drawing, painting, sculpture, graphics art etc.).
- 20 images (maximum) is a good rule of thumb.
- Present as a PowerPoint or PDF.
- Add details about what the work represents, why it was shot, influences with no more than 30 words per image.
- Add social media and website links if you wish.
A portfolio is your opportunity to display a range of projects from your studies and/or hobbies related to the creative discipline. A Media and Photography portfolio could also include video, photo, observational and experimental drawing, painting, textile projects using a range of processes, sketchbooks, annotation, and evidence of exploring other artists, designers, storyboards, etc. as inspiration for your projects. Typically you will include research of how you conceptualised and developed your ideas, what inspired them such as artist studies and mood boards, your development, and ultimately your final pieces. Any 3D work may be photographed, and a portfolio could be displayed physically or online such as on a website or social media page.
Depending on your experience we may consider your application without the above qualifications or UCAS tariff points if you have considerable experience in this area.
We do like to meet with you again once you have secured a place to talk you through the programme and what you can expect in more detail. We will also introduce you to other students who are currently on the programme and invite you to meet the team and look around the campus and facilities.
