Special Effects and Make-Up

Do Special Effects and Make-up courses have any industry involvement?

We try to organise trips as often as possible. We attend and hold a stand at make-up events yearly, such as the prosthetics event, UMAE, and IMATS. We have also been on trips to Pinewood Studios and 'Monsterpalooza' in Los Angeles which consisted of visiting 6 different working filming studios and workshops. We have a lot of industry involvement, this can be demonstrated throughout our course.

The course was written to offer you as many industry skillsets in the field as possible, we like to keep up to date and current with technology, techniques, and materials. Our teaching team have industry experience as well as our part-time industry lecturers who still work heavily in the industry as they teach. You will receive industry feedback remotely and in person and there are many opportunities to be involved in industry projects throughout your study. We attend many industry events, host the education stage at the prosthetics event and organise trips to studios around the world.

If you have any other enquiries relating to this you can contact the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Team to discuss, their contact details can be found at the bottom of the specific course page by searching the Special Effects and Make-Up subject area.

You can also chat with our staff directly every Wednesday from 2 pm - 4 pm and periodically throughout the working week.

Alternatively, chat with our current students who will be able to share this information with you and any other course-related queries.

Or book onto one of our Open Days or Course Advice Days to find out more and speak with the team.
